Before securing the gold medal in Paris, USA’s star-studded men’s basketball team rallied in Las Vegas for their first training camp, just weeks before the 2024 Olympic Games began. My role behind the camera was to capture B-roll and interviews for USA TODAY. I even got a question in during group interviews for Anthony Davis, Anthony Edwards and Kawhi Leonard.
Olympic athletes share heartbreak and comeback after ACL injury
After my own journey recovering from ACL surgery for a second time (but not due to a tear), I spoke with professional athletes who have also been on this long road to recovery, including Angel City Football Club’s Jun Endo, Kawhi Leonard of the L.A. Clippers and WNBA star Kia Nurse. I produced a photo gallery, reported and wrote the story text, produced and edited a video package for on site and for USA TODAY’s TikTok and Instagram.
